Watsonville, CA - September 4, 2019 /MarketersMedia/ —

K & D Landscaping proudly announces the company is competing for three California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA) Trophy Awards. The event will be held November 2019 in Lake Tahoe and is designed to honor the best-qualified professionals of the landscape industry across the state as recognized by the public. The CLCA convention focuses on the inspirational and practical knowledge landscape providers need when cultivating a team and propelling the business forward. K & D Landscaping has participated in this event in prior years and is proud to do so again.

"According to HomeGuides.SFGate.com, landscaping may increase the value of a property by tens of thousands of dollars. Not only does it have a positive effect on the property value immediately, but the return on investment also continues for years into the future. While other property elements fade with time or need replacing, landscaping thrives as the various plants, shrubs, and trees grow and mature. This is one area every homeowner should consider investing in as a result. However, the property owner must ensure the right contractor is selected for this task," Justin White, spokesperson for K & D Landscaping, explains.

The commercial and Residential landscaping company has been participating in the local awards since 2007 and has been honored with a minimum of one award each year. In fact, K & D Landscaping has won a total of 23 awards over the years. This year's awards were held on June 21st at the Dream Inn in Santa Cruz. The company entered in five categories and won in four of the five, taking home the Landscaping Maintenance Sweepstake Award along with the Judges Award.

"Customers know they can count on us, as we have been recognized in our field on multiple occasions. Our goal is to create a landscape plan that enhances the beauty of the property while ensuring it also meets the needs of the customer. To achieve this goal, we take into account the client's budget, the desired level of maintenance on the part of the property owner, and more. This ensures the customer is satisfied not only when the job is done, but also years into the future," White continues.

In 2018, the state trophy awards were held in San Diego. This was the first time K & D Landscaping took part in the state awards, but it will not be the last. The firm chose to enter their work in three categories and won first place in all of these categories. Customers in need of residential or Commercial landscaping assistance know they can count on this firm thanks to recognitions such as these.

"We are thrilled to have been honored by the CLCA in the past and hope the trend continues this year. However, our main focus remains on serving our customers and ensuring their needs are met in every way. The awards we have obtained for our work are simply an added bonus, one we greatly appreciate," White declares.

Greek fashion firms revitalize centuries-old silk tradition

Oct 15, 2019

SOUFLI, Greece — At Kostas Mouhtaridis' silk factory in Soufli, the non-stop "clunk-click" of the weaving machinery is a loud but welcome sound. The factory is a few hundred meters (yards) from the Evros River, which forms Greece's natural border with Turkey. It is one of Europe's most heavily militarized areas, patrolled constantly to deter illegal immigration into the European Union.  Soufli, a once-booming silk factory town in Greece's remote northeastern Thrace region, saw its centuries-old tradition of silkworm rearing, weaving and dying nearly snuffed out during Greece's decade-long financial crisis. The town had already suffered a heavy blow when...

Here are some highlights of Friday's spring-summer 2020 ready-to-wear collections in Paris. HIT ME BALMAIN ONE MORE TIME Spring found Rousteing in a philosophical mood, posing a fundamental question about fashion. Contemporary houses constantly mine the 60s, 70s and 80s for inspiration. But are styles from the 34-year-old designer's own youth —...

Gucci takes a kinky turn; Dolce&Gabbana give a jungle roar

Oct 15, 2019

MILAN — Fashion, according to Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele, now is above all "a great platform. It has great power." Michele has used that platform during his 4½ years at Gucci's helm to give gender fluidity a voice. The fashion house also put sustainability on stage, saying it would spend millions on a program to become carbon neutral. Fashion is recognized as one of the world's top pollution-producing industries, and luxury producers are taking additional steps to address the environmental impact of making clothes.
