Jul 16, 2018

LONDON — President Donald Trump is coming to Britain fresh from a confrontational NATO summit that featured stinging criticism of America's closest allies, but he's likely to tone down that stance when he takes tea Friday with Britain's Queen Elizabeth II. The president and his wife, Melania, are not expected to make waves during the visit with the 92-year-old monarch. Elizabeth has met every U.S. president since Dwight Eisenhower with the exception of Lyndon Johnson, who never visited Britain while in office. The imposing setting at Windsor Castle and the fact that his hostess is one of the most admired...

A female sailor, Yeoman First Class LaToya Jones, announced the new policy during a Facebook Live event Tuesday with Richardson. The new standards went into effect Wednesday. Lock hairstyles, or ropelike strands, are also now allowed. Wider hair buns too. And women can wear ponytails...

BRUSSELS — U.S. first lady Melania Trump returned to the international stage Wednesday as she mingled with the spouses of America's closest allies over classical music, fashion and chocolate. As President Donald Trump harangued Germany and other allies at a NATO summit in Brussels, his wife chatted amiably with some of their spouses at a music conservatory in a wooded park in Waterloo, near the Belgian capital. There, she and 10 other spouses were given a tour of the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, a training center for gifted young musicians housed in a modernistic glass building. Mrs. Trump, 48, wore...

World's ugliest dog dies weeks after winning title

Jul 16, 2018

ANOKA, Minn. — A 9-year-old English bulldog has died just weeks after winning the 2018 World's Ugliest Dog contest. Owner Megan Brainard of Anoka, Minnesota, told NBC's "Today " that Zsa Zsa died in her sleep Tuesday. Brainard says the dog was staying with her father and he found she had passed away when he got up in the morning. Zsa Zsa — with her floppy tongue, crooked teeth and pink manicure — won the annual contest on June 23 at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma, California. Brainard says Zsa Zsa never really showed much excitement, but that she knew...
