August 24, 2019 —

Camp Hill, PA: Sean Quinlan, candidate for Cumberland County District Attorney has endorsed fellow democrat and attorney, Tom Brier, Candidate for the 10th Congressional seat currently occupied by Scott Perry. Sean's decision is based on Tom's commitment to stemming the tide in the opioid crisis.

Mr. Quinlan also cited Mr. Brier's outspoken advocacy on the need for common-sense gun laws like universal background checks, extreme risk protection orders, and child access prevention laws.

Mr. Brier also believes that putting such measures in place is an important step to ensuring the wrong person doesn't have access to a weapon and keeping our children safer at school.

Sean and Tom both hail from Scranton, Pennsylvania where their families have been friends for decades. Sean went on to say, "given Tom's family, intellect, personality and character, I can't help but rave about what a credit he would be to the US Congress. I respect him as an individual, support him as a friend and proudly endorse him for the 10th Congressional District."

For the past 20 years, he has listened to his clients and fought for them in his law practice. Sean believes it is time for the American people to address gun violence, skyrocketing prison, probation costs, the opioid epidemic, and overcrowded prisons. It's one of the reasons why he's endorsing Tom Brier since both of them have a shared interest in how to make our communities safer.
Tom is an attorney, author, and educator who was born in Scranton and raised in Central Pennsylvania, where lives today. He is running for congress because he believes it gives him the power to help create the kind of future that the US citizens want and deserve.

Tom's campaign priorities include campaign finance reform, climate change, economy, education, gun violence, healthcare, national defense, the opioid epidemic, technology, unions, and veterans & military families.

Strangers in strange land, 130 migrants co-exist in shelter

Sep 19, 2019

JUAREZ, Mexico — Long after midnight, when the heat has finally relented and the walled courtyard is scattered with men sleeping in the open, someone begins to sob. The sound is quiet, muffled. The only light comes from streetlights shimmering above the razor wire. It's impossible to see who is crying. Is it the Ugandan bodybuilder who came here fleeing political violence? Or the 27-year-old El Salvadoran who often wears a Cookie Monster t-shirt? Maybe it's the young Honduran husband who rarely leaves his wife's side. It could have been any of them. ___ This story is part of an...

At Sunday's show held at the Brooklyn Museum, Burch said she made sure "to be careful not to be too literal, because she's clearly a style icon but that's not what was so interesting to me."
